Annual Appeal 2025 – Forward Momentum Chicago

Because of supporters like you, Forward Momentum Chicago has spent 12 years bringing innovative dance programs to nearly 3,000 students each year. As a result, we’ve nurtured confidence, creativity, and helped students develop life skills that will be used long after our programs end.

But today, our students need us more than ever. With major arts funding cuts and CPS budget challenges, the number of schools and organizations that can afford to provide dance programming is down by 45% compared to this time last year. As a result, thousands of students will not have access to arts programming this year. Your donation directly supports 2026 programs.

Our Annual Appeal Goal: $50,000

We have schools eager to welcome us back who simply don't have adequate funding. Your gift not only helps FMC bridge the gap for schools, but it also helps us to expand free community dance classes, and offer full scholarships to students anxious to enroll in our Summer Dance Camp.

With your support, Forward Momentum Chicago continues to:

Partner with 50 schools and organizations providing in-school/after-school programs
Provide FREE Saturday classes throughout the year in two locations for over 100 students each semester
Bring a conservatory style, 6-week summer dance camp to nearly 200 students each year
Mentor high school students through a college and career readiness program, FMC Dance Collaborative, with After School Matters
Perform in some of the city’s most notable dance presentations including, Chicago Black Dance Legacy at the Pritzker, Fresh Fest at Navy Pier, and Chicago Live!
